A ‘very strong’ Notts Outlaws team that could feature overseas duo Ish Sodhi and Dan Christian will play two T20 games against Northamptonshire Steelbacks at Grantham CC next Wednesday (July 5).

Although the fixture is a second team game, the Outlaws are set to use the matches as a final practice before they kick-off their NatWest T20 Blast campaign against Yorkshire at Headingley two days later.

Director of Cricket Mick Newell is keen to strengthen the Club’s ties with Grantham as they look to add to the outgrounds capable of hosting senior matches following a successful link-up with Welbeck CC.

“Without saying exactly what the team is going to be, it’s going to be very strong because it’s an ideal last chance to hone our T20 skills before the T20 comp starts for real,” he said.

“It’s a good set-up at Grantham and we hope to cement a strong relationship with them in the future.”

The matches, part of Grantham Cricket Week, will start at 11.30am and 3pm.

The ground’s address is Gorse Lane, Grantham, NG31 7UE, with admission and general parking free for Nottinghamshire members.

Members’ boundary parking is £5 per car, with prices charged at £5 for non-member general parking and £10 for non-member boundary parking.
