Nottinghamshire bowler Jake Ball will today (Wednesday) undergo a scan to assess the extent of a knee injury.

The England seamer was removed from the attack after 2.1 overs of his Specsavers County Championship bowling spell against Kent yesterday, during which he picked up the wicket of Daniel Bell-Drummond.

Notts Outlaws take on Surrey at Lord’s this weekend in the 50-over Royal London One-Day Cup final.

A statement from the ECB said: “Jake Ball is having a scan this morning on his right knee after pulling up in Nottinghamshire’s match against Kent yesterday.

“He is being reviewed by the Notts and ECB medical teams and an update will follow when more information is available.”
